34 years later, one of Keanu Reeves’ best films will finally have a sequel

The career of Keanu Reeves is full of unforgettable titles, but no list of his women’s films would be complete without the presence of ‘They Call Him Bodhi’, the notable action thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow. 34 years later, Hollywood has just launched a sequel, although this time it will be a television series for AMC and not a new feature film.

From Deadline they clarify that the ‘They Call Him Bodhi’ series will take place 35 years after the events narrated in the film that Reeves directed alongside the sadly deceased Patrick Swayze. Its story will revolve around a dangerous gang of robbers with a link to the group of former presidents…

More details

Behind the series will be David Kalsteinwho had previously worked on titles such as ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’‘Quantico’ or the recent ‘Butterfly’. Kalstein will be in charge of directing the ‘They Call Him Bodhi’ series and will also be one of its executive producers.

Right now It is unknown if any of the protagonists of the original film will appear in any way in the series. It would be a great addition to have Reeves, even if only for some kind of special appearance, but currently no cast member is known.

By the way, ‘They Call Him Bodhi’ already had a remake released in 2015 with Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey in the main roles, but it was a tremendous commercial failure – 105 million in budget and then only 133 million in collection. Let’s hope the series has better luck.
