‘The Shining’ returns to cinemas this Thursday (11); see where to watch in BH

The film “The Shining”Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece based on the book by Stephen King, returns to cinemas and continues showing until December 17th, and of course BH wouldn’t be left out of this! More than 4 decades after its debut, Warner Bros. Pictures re-releases the classic in IMAX and conventional theaters, and thus invites the public to rediscover one of the most emblematic works of psychological horror.

The film follows the Torrance family, who settle in the Overlook Hotel to take care of the place during the winter. As the days go by, isolation increases and strange events begin to intensify. In this way, the hotel gradually assumes a threatening role, while reality distorts and tension rises. Thus, actors Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Danny Lloyd drive the narrative with performances that marked the genre.

Furthermore, the director films several scenes with the then-innovative Steadicam, which reinforces the feeling of persecution and delirium. Today, “The Shining” remains a landmark in psychological horror and continues to influence filmmakers, critics and audiences around the world.
