The New York Times chooses the 10 best films of 2025; check it out

Critics of The New York Times elected the best movies of 2025 and included a Brazilian title on the list: “The Secret Agent”by Kleber Mendonça Filho. The ranking was released on Tuesday (2).

The national production gained international prominence since its debut at the Cannes Festival, where it was the most awarded feature film at the event. In New York, the thriller premiered in November and won over local critics.

Furthermore, “The Secret Agent” won two awards at the New York Film Critics Circleaward from the oldest critics group in the United States: Best International Film and Best Actor (Wagner Moura).
