James Gunn confirms Brainiac from ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’ and you probably don’t know him at all
James Gunn just confirmed who will be the villain of ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’since previously The Hollywood Reporter had been the medium that had taken it for granted. But not only that, but the person responsible for DC Studios and director of the next Man of Steel movie has announced who will be the actor to play the alien. After having heard names like Dave Bautista, Sam Rockwell or Matt Smith, Gunn has surprised by opting for an unknown German actor.
The name is Lars Eidingerand if it doesn’t sound like anything at all to you, it’s quite understandable. Alemán, 49 years old, meets one of the requirements that Gunn wanted no matter what, and that is to have a notable height, since he exceeds 190 centimeters. It is difficult to highlight any of Eidinger’s films, since he is quite popular in German cinema, but he has not worked much outside German borders. You can see him, for example, and to cite one of the most famous, in ‘Jay Kelly’the movie with George Clooney y Adam Sandler which can be seen on Netflix.
What does seem clear is that Gunn is 100% convinced of his decision. In a question from a fan on Threads, where the director and producer is especially active, he was asked about the performance that convinced him to choose Eidinger. Gunn’s response is concise and emphatic: “Your hearing”. Surprisingly, the fans in the responses seem quite happy with a casting that seemed to aim high but it is also not advisable to despise ahead of time.
When is ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’ released?
‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’ will hit theaters on July 9, 2027, and the return of David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult y Rachel Brosnahan. Superman and Lex Luthor will surprise by joining forces against what seems like a threat capable of putting the entire planet in check, a threat that, as suspected from the beginning, is Brainiac himself.
