With DiCaprio in the cast, ‘One Battle After Another’ grosses US$22 million in its opening week – R7 Entertainment

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the film One Battle After Another raised US$ 22 million (around R$ 117 million, at current prices) in the first week airing in the United States. The amount is in line with initial forecasts, which estimated between US$20 and US$25 million for the period.

The film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson follows Bob Ferguson, a former revolutionary who comes out of retirement to rescue his daughter. Faced with urgency, he reunites with old companions and embarks on a challenge against time to save the ones he loves.

This release ends a productive year for Warner Bros, which brought hits such as A Minecraft Movie e Superman. All titles performed remarkably well at the box office.

Inspired by the game of the same name, Minecraft reached US$957 million (more than R$5 billion) globally. Now the classic comic book hero, Superman accumulated a total of US$615 million (approximately R$3.27 billion).
