The film gets a streaming release date

F1: The Movie, action drama about Formula 1 starring Brad Pittfinally got a date to arrive on streaming. The film will soon arrive on Apple TV+.

The film premieres on streaming Apple em December 12th. Currently, the film is available exclusively for digital rental or purchase. The rental costs R$ 34.90 on YouTubewhile the purchase can be made on the Apple TV itself, in addition to the Apple’s virtual store Amazonfor R$ 59.90.

Starring Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris, his teammate from the fictional APXGP team, the film was filmed during Grand Prix weekends. The all-star cast includes Kerry Condon (are vessels of moisture.), Javier Bardem (Where the Weak Have No Place) e Tobias Menzies (The Crown).

Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) is the director of the film, which is executive produced by seven-time Formula 1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. Apple also participates in production.

With the announcement of the film’s release in theaters, Apple repeats the strategy it used with other major titles, such as Napoleon e Flower Moon Assassins. When films debut on the big screen, they become eligible for an Oscar, something that would not happen if they were released directly on the streaming service.

F1 originally premiered in national cinemas on June 26, with distribution from Warner Bros. Discovery.

The film grossed more than R$10 million in its debut in the United States alone. So far, the film’s worldwide box office has grossed more than US$546 million, making it Apple’s highest-grossing film in theaters. Its budget was US$200 million.
