In an interview with Ei Nerd, Jared Leto talks about the transformative power of ‘Tron: Ares’
The actor Jared Leto opened his heart when talking about Tron: Ares, new chapter of Disney’s iconic science fiction franchise that is now showing in theaters. In an exclusive interview with No Nerdthe character Ares who gives the film its name, spoke with Breno Jordan and shared his memories with the original film, revealed the impact that the saga had on his career and reflected on the deep messages of the new film.
Jared Leto said that his relationship with the world of Tron started in childhood:
I was around 11 or 12 years old when I saw the first Tron in the cinema. It was an experience that changed my life. The film was a pioneer in using computers in special effects and showing the birth of video games. It’s the reason I’m sitting here today.
The artist also mentioned his affection for Tron: Or Legacy (2010), a sequence that consolidated the visual style and cult appeal of the franchise:
I loved the second film. Fifteen years later, being back in that world is kind of crazy. We both loved this story.
During the conversation, Jared Leto He also reflected on the symbolism of his character and how he represents a new way of seeing the world:
Ares is someone who has a great understanding of the world they live in, but ends up entering a completely new universe. He needs to relearn everything — and I identify with that. I like the idea of being a beginner again with each project.
For the actor, the film goes beyond action and cutting-edge visual effects:
Tron: Ares talks about humanity and transformation. He was put in a position where he could rediscover what it means to be human.
