After more than a decade since the release of the first film, Deborah Secco returned to play one of her most memorable roles. The actress shared on social media the behind-the-scenes of reading the script for “Bruna Surfistinha 2”, a sequel to the 2011 film inspired by the life of former prostitute and writer Raquel Pacheco.

“Bruna Surfistinha 2! We’re back. Who’s excited?” wrote Deborah, posing alongside Drica Moraes and Fabiula Nascimento.

The new production promises to revisit Raquel’s trajectory from a more mature and sensitive perspective, exploring delicate themes such as motherhood, the attacks she suffered from her ex-husband and an abortion. Drica Moraes will play the pimp Larissa, while Fabiula Nascimento returns as Janine, the protagonist’s friend and co-worker.

Raquel Pacheco, who closely follows the development of the script, revealed that she is thrilled with the new chapter of the story. “It’s as if I were reliving everything all over again, déjà vu. Life gave me another chance, another open door, another way of recording my time here. My meetings with the screenwriters were real therapy sessions. I cried and laughed, remembering every moment of the first film”, he wrote in a post on social media.

The author also recalled the moment when, as a teenager, she decided to run away from home and start her life as a call girl. “I remember the day I left home with a backpack on my back and a lot of courage, afraid that no one would want to pay for sex with me. I was afraid, insecure, but I kept going. Today, I can only say: don’t give up on yourself. In the end, everything works out”, he declared.

Originally released in 2011, Bruna Surfistinha was inspired by the book “O Doce Veneno do Escorpião — O Diário de uma Garota de Programa”, released by Raquel in 2005. The film became a box office success. With the sequel, the story should return to Raquel’s life after the end of her career in prostitution, highlighting her phase as a writer, speaker and DJ.
