Five seconds, the plot of Virzì’s new film

Cinque Secondi, directed by Paolo Virzì, is the story of Adriano Sereni (Valerio Mastandrea), a solitary man who lives isolated in the stables of Villa Guelfi, a noble residence now in ruins. His quiet life is turned upside down by the arrival of a group of idealistic young people who want to bring the area’s vineyards back to life. Among them is Matilde (Galatea Bellugi), granddaughter of the ancient owner, who tries to understand the mysterious Hadrian. After an initial clash, however, as the months pass between the two, a ‘special’ atmosphere is created capable of changing both.
