In time for Halloween: the trailers for “Scream 7” and “Stranger Things” bring a double dose of scares

A pair of trailers were released on Thursday that are sure to make two sets of fans happy.

Horror and sci-fi fans (and those who enjoy both genres) received a gift – not a joke – with the premiere of the trailers for “Scream 7” and season 5 of “Stranger Things” on the same day, also known as Halloween Eve.

The latest installment of the “Scream” franchise reunites stars Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox as part of a cast that also includes several others, including Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace and Mark Consuelos. Campbell did not participate in the last film, so this marks his return to the franchise. slasher. Other stars return alongside her, including some who were believed to have died, such as David Arquette, Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley.

“When a new Ghostface killer appears in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, his worst fears come true when his daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target,” according to the film’s synopsis. “Determined to protect her family, Sidney must confront the horrors of her past to end the massacre once and for all.”

“I think the unique thing about this season is that it starts off a little bit in chaos because our heroes finally lost at the end of Season 4,” series co-creator Ross Duffer told Tudum. “Normally we show what their daily life is like and how they go to school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season kicks off at full speed from the beginning.”

The final season of “Stranger Things” premiered in 2022.

“Stranger Things” Season 5 Volume 1 will be available to stream starting November 26, with subsequent volumes arriving around Christmas and New Year.

“Scream 7” will hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
