Robert Englund, the eternal “Freddy Krueger”, receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

American actor, film director and voice actor Robert Englund, 78, famous for playing the iconic character Freddy Krueger, from the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise, won his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There wouldn’t be a more appropriate date: it was this Friday, October 31st, Halloween Day.

In addition to Englund, another big name in horror films, director and screenwriter John Carpenter, was also awarded a star on the Walk of Fame.

Robert Englund now has his name alongside other great representatives of the genre on the Walk of Fame, such as Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney and Bela Lugosi.

At the reveal of his star, Englund wore Freddy Krueger’s classic glove, and many fans came to watch the moment, dressed up as the iconic character.

“I wouldn’t be here without the fans. And from what I can see, you showed up, and I know you’re going to start knocking on doors looking for peanut butter cups and candy corn soon, but thanks for coming…” Englund said.
