A spin-off of the hit film Superman could tell new stories starring the revelation character Jimmy Olsen. Here are the first details.

The box office success of Supermanthe latest film adaptation of the stories centered on the iconic DC Comics superhero, would be encouraging DC Studios to expand the plots in the same way as was done with The Suicide Squad – Suicide Mission e The Batman. Several sources report that the studio is working on the development of a television spin-off of the film released last summer, dedicated to the “Daily Planet” photojournalist Jimmy Olsenplayed by Skyler Gisondo. Titled DC Crimethe potential spinoff would be pitched as a true crime docuseries in which Jimmy Olsen and other “Daily Planet” journalists would investigate cases involving evil matahumans. The first season would focus on Gorilla Grodd, a giant gorilla with extreme intelligence and abilities, known to readers and more generally to the DC public especially for his battles against the Flash.

On TV, Gorilla Grodd had already been an antagonist of the Scarlet Speedster in The CW’s live-action series The Flashin which he was voiced by David Sobolov. The villain, who appeared for the first time in 1959 in the comic series dedicated to Flash, has long been in the thoughts of the co-president of DC Studios James Gunndirector and screenwriter of Supermanfor a possible adaptation. Last summer, during an interview with Entertainment Weeklyhe said: “I love Gorilla Grodd and I have plans for that guy.”
