Watch: ‘Toy Story 5’ introduces Greta Lee-voiced tablet to playroom

Nov. 11 (UPI) — Disney released the teaser for Toy Story 5 on Tuesday. The sequel opens June 19.

Set to INXS’s “Never Tear Us Apart,” The toys’ current owner, Bonnie, receives a package which all the toys wait for her to open with apprehension.

The toys gathered round include Toy Story 4‘s breakout character Forky, who seems to have a knife companion now, the green aliens, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and, of course, Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

The package is Lilypad, a tablet voiced by Greta Lee. This suggests the classic toys, who have starred in the films since 1995, will now contend with modern children’s’ distraction by electronic screens.

Lee currently stars in The Morning Show and recently starred in Disney’s Tron: Ares. She was nominated for Critics Choice, SAG, Independent Spirit Awards and more awards for 2023’s Past Lives.

Tom Hanks voices Woody, Tim Allen Buzz, Joan Cusack Jessie and Tony Hale as Forky. Toy Story 4 was the last film to use the late Don Rickles’ voice as Mr. Potato Head.
