The film Onda de Violência arrived in the Netflix catalog without fanfare and, within a few hours, became the most watched title of the day on the platform in Brazil. Starring Michael Jai White, the action film follows the journey of a hitman who finds himself being pursued by his own boss after making an unexpected decision.
In the plot, Pete (Michael Jai White) has been working as a professional assassin for years, but decides to attend Workaholics Anonymous meetings. The choice, which should mark a change in life, ends up being interpreted as a sign of betrayal by Matteo Arcado (John Littlefield), leader of the criminal organization for which he works. From then on, Pete becomes the target of a merciless hunt led by other killers, all interested in the reward offered for his capture.
Famous for starring in productions marked by hand-to-hand combat, Michael Jai White returns to his origins with a character that requires intense choreography, action in closed environments and strong physical appeal. Also in the film are Aimee Stolte and Dawn Olivieri.
Onda de Violência premiered on Netflix this Friday (28/11) and started occupying the first position of the Top 10 in Brazil this Saturday (29/11), surpassing other productions that were on the rise such as the Christmas films Feliz Assalto and Borbulhas de Amor.
