8 best action films to watch on Netflix in November

When the Netflix catalog starts to seem repetitive, just dig a little deeper to discover real bombs hidden within. And November arrived bringing exactly that: 8 films that deliver action, emotion and that immersion that makes you forget about the world for two hours.

Player No. 1

If there is a film that captures that “gamer energy”, it is Ready Player One. Spielberg throws the audience into a giant video game, where nostalgia is a weapon and a refuge at the same time. It’s impossible not to catch yourself smiling when references you didn’t even remember appear on the screen.

Protagonist Wade Watts races against time inside the OASIS, a virtual reality so detailed that it makes the real world seem like a worn-out memory. Spielberg mixes adventure, action and emotion with the precision of someone who knows how to play with the fan’s heart.

Hidden Agent

Hidden Agent is the type of film that seems to have been born to explode the Netflix catalog. Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans fight an intense, stylish and even ironic duel, Evans even plays a villain so insane that he seems to have come straight from an adult comic.

The plot follows Sierra Six, a CIA assassin who discovers forbidden information and becomes a target of the system itself. What starts as a mission turns into a global chase with sequences that border on the absurd, in the best possible sense.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, the film carries that DNA of frenetic action that we saw in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But here everything is dirtier, more cynical, more personal.

Army of the Dead

Zack Snyder took everything he already knew about action and decided to mix it with zombies, neon and Las Vegas. The result? Army of the Dead, a film that looks like a video game, music video and radioactive nightmare at the same time. It’s impossible not to have fun with the purposeful exaggeration, after all, Snyder knows he’s putting on a show.

At the center of the plot, a group of mercenaries agrees to steal a million-dollar safe in an isolated city infested with the living dead. Easy? Not even. Snyder’s zombies have hierarchies, strategies and even feelings, who knew this would work so well? And when everything starts to fall apart, literally, that’s when the film gets even better.

Rescue

In Extraction, Chris Hemsworth delivers a type of physical performance that borders on the insane, and proves that it is possible to create a protagonist full of nuances even in the middle of explosions. The mission is simple on paper: rescue the son of a crime boss.

But this turns into a brutal dive into Dhaka, with chases, shootouts and hand-to-hand clashes that made streaming history. It is impossible to forget the 12-minute sequence shot, which became an instant reference. How many films have the courage to film like this?

And in the midst of it all, there is still emotion. Tyler fights the world and himself. It’s action, of course, but it’s also a story about guilt, redemption and someone trying to do for someone else what they couldn’t do in the past.

Rescue 2

If the first film already seemed like the limit of what was possible, Extraction 2 appears to prove that there is no limit at all. Sam Hargrave takes the original recipe and doubles it: more action, more tension, more pain, more sweat. And that’s why the sequence works so well.

Tyler returns injured, exhausted, emotionally destroyed. But his new mission, freeing a family trapped in a prison, sends the film spiraling. The sequence shot here? Forty minutes.

The film understands that it doesn’t need to reinvent the drama, it needs to intensify it. Tyler tries to survive the enemy, time and himself. Who knew a sequel could be so much heavier the more human it becomes?

Squad 6

If there is a film that does not respect limits, neither physical nor narrative, it is Squadron 6. Michael Bay unleashes his entire arsenal of explosions, rotating cameras and cinematic madness. It’s a film that embraces exaggeration without shame. And that’s precisely why it becomes so fun.

The plot follows a group of agents “dead” to the world, but alive for absurd missions. Ryan Reynolds leads the team with sarcasm and charisma as the action unfolds across Florence, Hong Kong and the desert. Everything is fast, exaggerated and uninterrupted.

And the most curious thing? Even in absolute chaos, there is style. Bay creates images that stick in the mind, cars turning into trapezes, drones tearing through the sky, tombs exploding. Does it seem like too much? AND. But sometimes, “too much” is exactly what we want to see.

Havoc

In Havoc, Tom Hardy delves into a type of character that only he knows how to play: a broken, violent and unpredictable man. Here, he is a detective up to his neck in gangs, corruption and an underworld that never forgives. But why does this film attract so much attention?

Because Hardy turns every scene into an emotional release. He doesn’t just fight, he roars, falls, gets up and continues. The choreography is intense, dirty, almost claustrophobic, as if the film wanted to remind us that real violence is not beautiful.

Director Gareth Evans, known for The Raid, uses his signature brutal combat to create something that feels much more physical and realistic. And when everything falls apart, we realize that Havoc isn’t just about beatings, it’s about a man trying to breathe in a world that’s just trying to suffocate him.

Power

Power is that type of film that you watch expecting entertainment and receive a ton of reflections along with it. The pill that gives you powers for five minutes creates a perfect metaphor for addiction, abuse and inequality. And that’s why the story is so compelling.

Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dominique Fishback were an unlikely but extremely charismatic trio. Each character uses power in a different way, and each choice takes its toll. But what happens when too much power falls into the wrong hands?

The coolest thing is that Power doesn’t just depend on fantasy. Its action scenes are creative, tense and visually impeccable. And when the truth behind the pill starts to emerge, you start to question who really has power in the real world.
