The film will be directed by America and written by Mario Frias
The direction of The Underdog is directed by North-American filmmaker Cyrus Nowrasteh. The script will be written by federal deputy and former actor Mario Frias (PL-SP).
The plot aims to portray the 2018 presidential campaign, including the stabbing episode, as well as behind the scenes of Bolsonaro’s political rise.
Premiere scheduled for 2026
The film should hit theaters in 2026 and, according to the production, part of the recordings took place in Brazil.
