A Chevrolet Silverado EV ZR2 dedicated to off -road, that is you?

Chevrolet unveiled, earlier this week, the Silverado EV ZR2 concept dedicated to off-road race-as part of the Mint 400 Off-Road Race. The event takes place every year in March in Sin City, Nevada.

In collaboration with the Chad Hall Racing Team team, this will be an opportunity for the American manufacturer to analyze the performance, sustainability and capacities of the van. The data collected will be used for future products marketed by Chevrolet.

As for the concept, the Silverado EV obtains the ZR2 treatment – in the same way as the Silverado, Silverado HD and Colorado. If 98% of the components are original, the van receives a base protection, self -locking differentials (“bar” software the two rear engines so that they work simultaneously, while it is mechanical at the front) as well as an enhanced suspension.

Chevrolet will test, during the event, a prototype multimatic shock absorber SPOOL Valve which allows a 13 -inch travel. Of course, the wheels are fitted with BF Goodrich km3 mud-terrain tires to face all the conditions.

Mechanically, few details have been shared about it. However, Chevrolet Canada told us that it is based on a WT model with prolonged autonomy. The latter employs a battery of around 205 kWh granting him a range of 792 km. Besides, the Silverado EV ZR2 has three electric motors (one at the front and two at the rear). Together, they develop a cavalry of 1,100 horsepower and a couple of 11,500 LB-PI. Would you like to see this vehicle entering production?

Meanwhile, Chevrolet plans to market a Boss trail version of the Silverado EV this summer. It will be equipped with 35-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch rims, a raised suspension and red storage hooks. More details will be shared soon.
