A success in cinemas, ‘F1 – The Movie’ gets a streaming release date

Apple Original Films announced this Monday, the 13th, that F1 – The Moviea film starring Brad Pitt as a pilot who comes out of retirement to compete in Formula 1 — while helping to train a new talent in the sport, arrives on the platform Apple TV+ to its subscribers on December 12th. The production is the studio’s biggest cinematic release, having grossed more than $629 million globally — it is also the highest-grossing sports feature film of all time.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film follows the saga of Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a driver who was considered the great promise of Formula 1 in his youth — but never reached his potential, as he suffered an accident that ended his career. After 30 years, Sonny works as a racer to help win races and money. His former colleague in the sport, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who now heads an F1 team that needs to win to escape bankruptcy, appears with the proposal that Sonny join the team and mentor the new prodigy, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a young man full of attitude and arrogance.
