Amazon Prime Video is throwing out the series forever

After five years it’s over. Amazon is deleting a horror series just before Halloween. No other streaming service offers it.

Dortmund – Time is running out. On October 30th, Amazon Prime Video will delete “Truth Seekers” from its program – on the eve of Halloween of all days. If you still want to see the ghost hunter series, you have to hurry up.

The paranormal comedy started on Prime Video on October 30, 2020. Now she disappears exactly five years later to the day.

The story of “Truth Seekers” sounds typically British. Gus Roberts installs wireless routers during the day. But at night? He hunts ghosts there. The brilliant engineer has a hobby that most people would consider crazy. He investigates paranormal phenomena and documents his encounters with the supernatural.

“Truth Seekers”: Actors known from British cult films

The cast reads like a who’s who of the British acting scene. Nick Frost plays the lead role, with Simon Pegg supporting him. Some viewers probably know the two from cult films like “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz”.

They are joined by Emma D’Arcy, now known from “House of the Dragon”, as well as Samson Kayo, Julian Barratt and Malcolm McDowell. A troupe of actors who weave together horror and laughter for eight episodes.

But success wasn’t enough. Amazon canceled the continuation of the series in February 2021. After eight episodes it was over. Why? Amazon was silent. No reason, no explanation. The story definitely had potential for further adventures. The ghost hunters had uncovered the conspiracy, but the creators of the series could have easily continued to spin the world of the paranormal.

Now, five years later, the final conclusion follows. The series is disappearing from the program and no other streaming service in Germany currently offers “Truth Seekers”. If you want to experience the eight episodes again, you only have the last few days until Halloween.
