Avatar – Fire and Ashes exceeds 9 million – The box office on Tuesday 23 December

Tuesday 23 December closed with 1,913,368 euros (238,653 spectators) on 2,778 screens, +121% takings compared to Tuesday 24 December 2024 (Christmas Eve is always a weak day for the box office) and +233% compared to seven days ago.

We take this opportunity to take stock of the Christmas season, following the approach he had given Robert Bernocchi which analyzed the weeks between 7 December and 10 January, in order to make comparisons with comparable periods for weekends and holidays. The numbers for now are decidedly in favor of the 2025-2026 Christmas season which, as demonstrated by the data below, is clearly ahead of the same post-Covid periods (and on par with 2024-2025 in terms of attendance).

  • 7-23 December 2025 – 944,352 euros in proceeds
  • 7-23 December 2024 – 859,537 euros in proceeds
  • 7-23 December 2023 – 24,620,309 euros in proceeds
  • 7-23 December 2022 – 24,130,381 euros in proceeds
