Bolsonaro Movie: See who the actors will play the family’s story

The production is inspired by the 2018 election and will feature American direction and a script written by an allied deputy.

The film “Dark Horse” (“The Dark Horse”, in free translation), focusing on the 2018 presidential campaign, has as its central axis the stabbing suffered by Jair Bolsonaro in Juiz de Fora (MG).

The film should explore not only the political events, but also the family dynamics and the children’s support for the former president’s trajectory, showing how the family became involved in national politics and closely followed every step of the campaign.

It will be directed by American filmmaker Cyrus Nowrasteh, who is well known for Christian-themed films, with a dramatic touch and a historical narrative. The script will be signed by federal deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP), a former actor and political ally of Bolsonaro, who will bring his own vision of the events and the presidential family.

To play the former president’s children, the production cast Mexican actor Marcus Ornellas as Flávio Bolsonaro; the Brazilian Sérgio Barreto in the role of Carlos Bolsonaro; and the American Eddie Finlay as Eduardo Bolsonaro. According to production sources, each actor went through an immersion process to get closer to the personality and public characteristics of each of the former president’s children, studying speeches, gestures and behavior in public.

The starring role will go to Jim Caviezel, known for playing Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ.
