Brown compares Verstappen to a “horror movie character”
Max Verstappen returned from mid-year vacation with low hopes against the two McLarens. However, the abandonment of Lando Norris gave him a ‘breath’ of opportunities and to dream of the fifth championship of the Formula 1. To Zak Brownthis is a situation very similar to horror films.
Since the Dutch GP, Verstappen has won four races, while Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri share three climbs to first place – the Briton in Mexico and São Paulo and the Australian only in Zandvoort.
Despite the Dutchman’s approach, until the Las Vegas GP, the two McLaren drivers were managing to maintain a margin for the four-time champion, however, with the double disqualification, Verstappen scored the same amount of points as Piastri and both are just 24 points behind Norris.
For Brown, this ‘scary’ recovery is like watching a horror movie, where Max is the one chasing the characters with his ‘scary’ mask.
“He’s like that horror movie character,” Brown told the podcast Sports Agents. “Just when you think he’s not coming back, he does.”
“He has unbelievable talent. He never makes mistakes. He takes advantage of every opportunity.”
It is important to mention that, despite the low chances throughout the season, Verstappen was never ruled out by McLaren as a possible close rival until the end of the year.
