Casa das Artes promotes Cinema Circle to debate the best films of 2025
The meeting, with free entry, will bring together special guests to talk about the highlights of 2025
Casa das Artes, in Belém, hosts this Wednesday (10), at 6:30 pm, another edition of the now traditional Roda de Cinema, held in partnership with the Center for Cinematographic Studies (CEC). The meeting, with free entry, will bring together special guests for a broad debate about the most notable films released in cinemas and streaming services throughout 2025.
The activity will be presented and coordinated by Marco Antônio Moreira, film professor, critic, researcher and general coordinator of the CEC. During the Round, participants will share their personal lists of the year’s best films, opening space for a collective debate that encourages the exchange of ideas, critical views and different readings on contemporary production.
“In December, we always seek to take stock of the year’s cinematographic highlights. Each guest contributes with their impressions and recommendations. The proposal is to promote debate, encourage interaction between those present and awaken curiosity about the films discussed”, highlights Marco Antônio Moreira.
Among the confirmed guests are professors John Fletcher and Alex Damasceno, as well as critics, researchers and other professionals linked to the cinematographic field.
Among the titles already confirmed on Marco Antônio Moreira’s list are: “The Secret Agent”, by Kleber Mendonça Filho; “One Battle After Another”, by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Leonardo DiCaprio; and “O Último Azul”, by Gabriel Mascaro, as well as other productions that stood out in cinemas and on streaming platforms throughout the year.
The CEC Cinema Circle is a monthly action aimed at promoting cinematographic culture in Belém, with the aim of stimulating cinephilia, expanding spectators’ repertoire and strengthening critical debate about cinema. In this special edition, the public will be invited to discover and/or revisit the films identified as the most relevant of 2025.
