Chevrolet Silverado EV 2026: same basic price and new Boss trail version

Chevrolet now gives us the details and prices of the Silverado EV 2026 for the Canadian market, the first units to arrive this summer. The main salient is the addition of the Trail Boss version, already popular on the Silverado and Petrol Colorado, replacing the RST at the top of the range.

“It is an impressive truck that will meet the needs of our customers wishing to venture off the beaten track while retaining the characteristics they appreciate in the Silverado EV, in particular autonomy and all-terrain driving power,” says chief engineer Joe Roy.

The Silverado EV Trail Boss has an increased ground clearance of 2 inch or 24% compared to the basic model and its helicoid springs suspension is adjusted differently with a hydraulic rebound control system. There is also an exclusive terrain mode which facilitates maneuvers at low speed on damaged terrain, in particular by unlocling the four steering wheels. The Sidewinder mode, it allows the four wheels to turn in the same direction and move the truck diagonally at low speed (the equivalent of the Crabwalk on the GMC Hummer EV).

In terms of capabilities, the Boss trail version equipped with the battery with extended autonomy can tow up to 12,500 lb or transport a load of 2,100 lb. With the Max autonomy battery, the power reaches 725 horsepower and the torque, 775 LB-PI. Otherwise, let us mention its exclusive 18-inch wheels wearing 35-inch all-terrain tires, all combined with a front bumper which gives a better approach angle and incorporates towing hooks.

What else for 2026?

Chevrolet adds three colors to the Silverado EV palette for 2026, white sands, polar white and matt magnus gray. On the side of Super Cruise hands -free driving assistance, the system will now take into account the Google Maps itinerary to go on the right track. As for the adaptive cruise control, it has been improved so that the driver can choose to automatically adjust the speed according to the limits indicated.

With these various changes and the addition of the Trail Boss version, the company hopes to continue to increase its market share in the niche of electric van in Canada. From 12.1% at the end of 2024, it increased to 23.7% at the end of the first quarter of 2025.
