Celebrities mourn the death of Diane Keaton

“When I was a kid, Diane Keaton was my absolute idol. I loved her acting. I loved her vibe. I loved everything about her. Starting when I was 12, I tried to dress like her. I wore my hair long. I wore men’s hats and vests, and (although my eyes were fine) I wore studious-style glasses because I thought they made me look more like her,” he began.

“A little over a decade ago, I was in a movie called ‘Ruth & Alex’ with her and it was like a dream come true. I was very shy around her, but I think she liked me and that meant everything to me. (…) She was unique. I’m so sad that she’s gone,” he recalled.

“It’s hard to believe… or accept… that Diane has passed away. She was always a point of life and light, constantly laughing at her own weaknesses, being limitlessly creative… in her acting, in her wardrobe, in her books, in her friends, in her homes, in her library, in her worldview. Unique is what she was. And although she didn’t know it or wouldn’t admit it, man, she was a great actress!”

“What a wonderful actress!” he wrote.

“Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny and unapologetically herself. A legend, an icon and a truly kind human being. I was honored to work with her at the age of 18. She will be greatly missed,” he said.

“What a sad day. Rest in peace. Such a brilliant actress, a kind and gracious heart with a bright and independent spirit,” he said.

“They say don’t meet your heroes, but I got to work with one of mine and even called her “Mom” for a few months. An honor of a lifetime. What an incandescent human Di is and was. I’m so sad she’s gone for all the right reasons, but also because it felt like she would be here forever, dazzling us with her talent and charm (and her style, come on)!!! One of the best to ever do it. All my love to her children and loved ones darlings,” he wrote.

“No!! No!!! No!! God, not yet, NO!!! Man… you defined femininity. The pathos, the humor, the levity, your ever-present youth and vulnerability – you tattooed your SOUL onto every role, making it impossible to imagine anyone else inhabiting them. You were undeniably, unapologetically YOU!!! I adored you. Man… rest well. God bless your family, and I know angels are taking you home,” he wrote.
