This Thursday, October 9th, the feature film that completes a franchise that began in the 1980s, ‘Tron: Ares’, arrived in cinemas. With script signed by Jack Thorneof ‘Hailmes 2’, and Jesse Wigutowfrom ‘The Crow’, the production is directed by Joachim Rønningknown for his work on ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’.
After being starred by Jeff Bridges in the original 1982 film, ‘Tron – An Electronic Odyssey’, and follow the presentation of Garrett Hedlund e Olivia Wilde in ‘Tron: Legacy’, a sequel released more than 30 years later, now the person taking charge of the plot is Jared Leto.
The plot follows Ares, a computer program that inhabits the neon-looking virtual world known as ‘The Grid’. Taking risks by being assigned to a mission outside cyberspace, that is, within the real world, the protagonist finds himself questioning the origins of his programming.
The cast is completed with the return of Bridges, who played Kevin Flynn and the Clu program in the previous films, as well as Evan Peters (Dahmer: An American Cannibal), Gillian Anderson (X-Files), Greta Lee (Past Lives), Jodie Turner-Smith (The Acolyte), Hasan minhaj (This Is How It Ends), Arturo Castro (Rent Killer), Sarah Desjardins (Yellowjackets) e Cameron Monaghan (Gotham).
Since before the release, one of the doubts that viewers may have is whether or not they will have to remain in the theater after the film has been shown for a possible post-credits scene.
After all, does ‘Tron: Ares’ have post-credits scenes?
Although it’s not very revealing,’Tron: Ares’ has an extra scene shown in the middle of the credits. In it, fans can see a scene featuring Kevin Flinn, character from Jeff Bridgeswhich suggests a possible new sequence.
However, it is worth remembering that the franchise’s releases previously only occurred every fifteen years, at least, raising doubts about a new prequel so soon.
