An unusual dispute took place in American cinemas this weekend. On one side, Dwayne Johnson. On the other, Taylor Swift. And the singer won in a landslide.
The display of Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, with a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the pop star’s new album, it generated much more box office than Fighter’s Heart – The Smashing Machinea film that could put The Rock at the 2026 Oscars.
The numbers are not yet consolidated. But it is estimated that the film about Taylor Swift’s album grossed US$33 million over the weekend, in the United States and Canada alone.
The prestigious Fighter’s Heart, with a praised performance by Dwayne Johnson, pocketed just US$6 million. This is the worst debut of a film starring The Rock in theaters.
