Epiphone and Gibson celebrate “Back to the Future” with limited edition ES-345 models

October 21, Back to the Future Day. On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the cult film starring Michael J. Fox, Gibson announces the Back to the Future Collectiona limited series of instruments and accessories dedicated to the ES-345 Cherry Red, protagonist of the unforgettable dance scene “Enchantment Under the Sea”.
The American brand, in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, brings back one of the most iconic guitars of the big screen, with Gibson Custom and Epiphone models, as well as an exclusive line of clothing and gadgets.

The mystery of the lost ES-345
This summer, Gibson and Michael J. Fox, a truly global hunt for the original ES-345 used on the film set. Thousands of clues have arrived from all over the world LostToTheFuture.comand the company has now narrowed the search to a few suspect specimens. Finding that guitar would mean getting your hands on the most important heirloom in cinematic musical history.

Produced alone 88 specimens in the world – a clear reference to the speed of the DeLorean for time travel – the Gibson Custom Back to the Future 1955 ES-345 Collector’s Edition sports a finish Cherry Red with gold hardware and a set of movie memorabilia: flux channeler, time machine key, Casio watch, personalized strap, guitar pick and certificate of authenticity.
