First Steps has a streaming start date on Disney+
This is probably the second step – the first step was, The Fantastic Four: First Steps to bring to the cinemas. Now Disney+ has announced a streaming start date for the Marvel blockbuster.
The MCU film, which has grossed $521.8 million at the global box office, will be released on the streaming platform on November 5th and Disney and Marvel Studios will hope that the Fantastic Four stays on course for success there The Fantastic Four: First Steps had the strongest theatrical release of the year for Marvel and managed it Superman from DC Studios ranked second among the most successful superhero films of the year.
At First Steps Matt Shakman directed, while Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer worked on the screenplay. This is the third attempt to remake the story of the Fantastic Four for the cinema. 2005 famously brought Tim Story Fantastic Four with Ioan Gruffud, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis in cinemas, which followed in 2007 Sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
In 2015, Josh Trank – who sometimes mainly works with his found footage superhero film – tried Chronicle remained in memory – Fantastic Four to reboot. The film, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, made some money at the box office, but was completely panned.
Shakman approached things completely differently when adapting the Fantastic Four for the MCU. The film utilizes a 1960s aesthetic, including costumes inspired by the original comic book outfits, and a retro-futuristic approach that feels fun and fresh. In addition, the team is already in the spotlight – another origin story about how the Fantastic Four got their powers has been largely avoided.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps also works on Avengers: Doomsday which will be released in cinemas next year and will once again bring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach to the screen as Marvel’s First Family.
