Ford F-10 current goes at least until 2028, they say suppliers

Suppliers say Ford negotiates pieces for another four years within the same generation as the pickup

In 2024 Ford sold 460,000 Ford F-150 units in the US and it seems, it will be in production for a long time. This is the indication of Ford parts suppliers who confirmed to the automotive news site that the company is negotiating some cost reductions (between 2 and 4%) but with the certainty that the pickup will continue to be made in the United States.

The news comes in a context where Ford faces some important challenges looking only at the US market. The first is to accelerate the development of plugin hybrid products, as the acceptance of 100% electric models is far from surprising. So much so that in 2024 Ford said it lost no less than $ 5 billion, about $ 26 billion with production of electric cars such as the Ford F-150 Lightining which is the electric version of its pickup.

Since 2023 Ford has changed the leadership of supply management that is now under the charge of Liz Door. The executive has improved communication with suppliers after all with more than 600,000 units sold per year, the negotiation of parts and margins of supplier should yield a series of fierce competition and adjustments. Today Ford sells in Brazil the F-150 only in the Lariat version for R $ 545 thousand. And apparently as the pickup the V8 engine should be guaranteed for a long time even if it coexists with hybrid and electric versions.
