Ford pushes the replacement of the F-15 Lightning to 2028-The Annual of the Automobile
Ford was the first large manufacturer to offer an electric van with the Lightning variant of its F-150. This model was not an all-electric creation, but a real F-150 transformed to be all electric. It is different from the approach of General Motors with its Silverado EV and Sierra EV.
For his part, Ford had promised to launch an F-150 designed at the base as an electric vehicle this year. The thing was pushed back to 2026, then to 2027, and now another postponement was announced by the company. The electric van promised by Ford is now scheduled for 2028.
The same goes for the electric van which is also in the plans, a new generation of the e-transit, it is presumed.
We may have more information at the start of next week while Ford promises a big announcement regarding its electrical strategy.
Ford confirmed these delays to the site Car and Driver who had informed of the thing. “In June we communicated to our suppliers and employees of schedule adjustments concerning our new generation electric van and our full -size electric van. The F-150 Lightning, the best-selling electric van in the United States, and the E-Transit continue to meet the current customer needs, “said a company spokesperson.
Ford also said that she was planning to start building prototypes from the future electric van in 2027.
