In an interview withADORCinema, the actor spoke about the most difficult scene to film in the sequence and what motivated him, as a producer, to take the family adventure to Europe. At the end of the chat, Mark also revealed a secret about his next film.

For Mark, the sequel needed to be bigger than the previous project, which had already been a resounding success. The way to achieve this, then, was to change things up and add new faces. “Well, the first movie was obviously very beloved by a lot of people, and we wanted to figure out a way to elevate it and make it better. I think introducing new characters — my younger brother and my daughter’s boyfriend, future son-in-law, who drives my character crazy — was a really cool idea,” he explained.

He continues: “Traveling abroad and using that as an excuse, which I really like, because I felt like a father’s ‘sixth sense’ knows something is happening to his daughter. You can see these changes in real life. I wanted to surprise my daughter (in the film), find out what she was doing, and of course, I ended up finding what I was looking for — and I wish I hadn’t. But then he ends up becoming part of the family, which is great.”

In the film, the actor lives up to the character’s international fame by speaking different languages. Asked about the possibility of speaking Portuguese, he reveals that not only has he already done so, but the public will be able to watch this moment in his next film.

“Yes, and I speak Portuguese in my next film. It’s called Balls Upand I speak Portuguese. I cause a lot of confusion in Brazilso I apologize in advance, ok?” he joked. “It’s during the World Cup, in the final between Brazil and Argentina. But yes, I definitely speak some Portuguese in the film.”

At the end of the interview, Mark even tried to scratch his tongue a little when calling on the public to watch Plano em Família 2.
