If It Wasn’t For You leads worst box office weekend of the year
Halloween weekend appears to have scared audiences enough to keep them away from movie theaters across the United States.
The total sum of sales between Friday (31) and Sunday (2) reached US$49 million, making this the worst weekend of the year at the box office, according to the Comscore. This was also the worst October in 27 years, not including 2020, when the height of the pandemic did not allow going to the cinema. October 2025 totaled US$425 million, the worst result since the US$385 million in 1997.

In the end, the American box office rankings for this disappointing weekend are led by If It Wasn’t For Youadaptation of the novel by Colleen Hoover which is in its second weekend on display. The film grossed US$8.1 million.
The Black Phone 2 occupies the second position of the weekend, with a collection of US$8 million, followed by Chainsaw Man: Arco da Rezewhich made $6 million. THE Netflix did not release box office numbers for the re-release of K-Pop warriorsbut it is estimated that the film made between US$5 million and US$6 million, but it does not count in official data.
Bugonia and the relaunch of Back to the Future They close the top 5 at the American box office for the weekend with US$4.8 million and US$4.7 million, respectively.
