On social networks, director Shawn Levy announced the end of filming on the next “Star Wars” film, expected in theaters in May 2027.

For the moment, there are few details on Star Wars: Starfighter to have filtered. We just know that the plot takes place five years after the story told in the last film of the franchise, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalkerreleased in December 2019.

Ryan Gosling delivered some information on the blockbuster during a conference in Tokyo last April, as relayed by The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

“The truth is that this script is simply excellent. The story is great, with great and original characters,” the actor said. “It’s full of emotion and adventure, and there really is no more perfect director than Shawn (Levy) to tell this story.”

Furthermore, last September, Lucasfilm unveiled the first trailer for another particularly anticipated Star Wars film: The Mandalorian and Grogudirected by Jon Favreau and which will be released on May 22, 2026.
