In 2023, Blumhouse’s horror box office phenomenon, Five Nights at Freddy’s — based on the famous series of games Scott Cawthon — became the highest-grossing horror film of the year. Now, a shocking new chapter of animatronic horror begins.
A year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Stories about what happened there were distorted and became an exaggerated local legend, inspiring the city’s first Fazfest.
Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) hid the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), about the fate of his animatronic friends.
But when Abby runs away to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, it sets off a frightening series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origins of Freddy’s — and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden for decades.
Skeet Ulrich was confirmed in the cast and will return to star opposite Matthew Lillardhis scene partner in ‘Panic‘ (1996), a film that established them as slasher horror icons in the 1990s.
There are still no official details about the character who Ulrich will play, but he is expected to play a central role in the new phase of the story, which promises to expand the dark, animatronic universe of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Lillardwho appeared in the first film as William Afton — the franchise’s big villain — should have an even more prominent role in the sequel.
The first ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s‘ premiered in 2023 and became a box office success, grossing more than US$280 million worldwide, even with simultaneous release on the platform Peacock. The film exceeded the expectations of Universal and from Blumhouse and quickly secured approval for a sequel.
The cast features the return of Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio e Matthew Lillardin addition to introducing Mckenna Grace, Wayne Knight e Megan Fox.
Emma Tammi returns to the direction.
