Keanu Reeves confessed that he can only see three films from his extensive filmography when they appear on television or in other formats.

During a talk at The New Yorker Festivalthe 61-year-old actor was asked if he usually watches his old productions. According to the American press, he acknowledged that he avoids looking at almost all of his works, although he made very specific exceptions.

Before the audience present—and accompanied by Alex Winter and cultural critic Naomi Fry—Reeves explained: “No, I mean, maybe while I’m changing the channel, I think: ‘There it is, oh yeah, Break Point is on broadcast’”.

The Hollywood artist thus referred to the 1991 film in which he plays an undercover FBI agent. Along the same lines, he added two other tapes that he does observe on specific occasions.

“O, ‘Oh wow, MatrixGOOD. Matrix Reloaded“Hell, yes,” he said with a laugh, alluding to the blockbusters of 1999 and 2003 in which he gives life to the character Neo.

In his speech, Keanu Reeves was clear that, outside of this casual context, he does not deliberately reproduce his feature films.

“No, no, no, no. I haven’t put one of my movies on to watch“, he stated emphatically. This self-prohibition that he maintains regarding his work coincides with that of other actors, such as Alex Winter, who also acknowledged that he avoids looking at his previous projects.

Winter himself explained during the event that only on exceptional occasions, such as special screenings in cinemas, does he seek to observe the public’s reaction, but in general he does not feel comfortable with his past works.

Reeves stressed that his decision is not caused by dissatisfaction, but simply that he prefers not to see his films on screen. Thus, its only exceptions turn out to be Break Point, Matrix y Matrix Reloaded; These last two belonging to one of the best-rated sagas in cinema.
