“Keeper”: “Longlegs” director presents new horror trip in November
Since his iconic appearance as the strange Harvard student David alongside Reece Witherspoon in Legally Blonde, the good Osgood aka Oz Perkins has changed a lot. In the meantime, he has largely given up his work in front of the camera to devote himself to the creativity behind it – in the horror sector! His first major work, “Gretel & Hänsel,” already had what it took to become an indie evergreen, and then things got really wild.
Since 2024, Osgood Perkins has created two absolute milestones in modern horror cinema: “Longlegs” and “The Monkey”. The fact that the good guy is now starting his next chapter as a director on the big screen shows us how serious he is.
After “The Monkey” (now available to stream with a Sky and WOW subscription), Osgood Perkins is now bringing “Keeper” to cinemas. The horror film tells the story of a couple (Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland) who want to celebrate their anniversary in a remote cabin. But there is no trace of romance here – and instead the two are soon haunted by a dark presence…
“Keeper” was already praised in advance by some big names in the film world for its difference. According to DCM, one Guillermo del Toro called “Keeper” for example “a horror work of art that cleverly unfolds”James Wan in turn described the film as “terrifying, eerie descent into madness” – all quotes from the promo, of course.
“Keeper” opens in cinemas on November 20th, here is the trailer:
