“Leo from Chicago”: The documentary

The Editorial Directorate of the Dicastery for Communication presents the documentary “Leo from Chicago”: a cocktail of interviews, videos and images that trace the history and roots of Robert Francis Prevost in his native country, the United States. A production by journalists Deborah Castellano Lubov, Salvatore Cernuzio and Felipe Herrera-Espaliat.

This Vatican media documentary addresses Robert Francis Prevost’s roots in his homeland, the United States. A journey that begins with his childhood in the suburb of Dolton, through the memories of his brothers Louis and John, and continues through schools and universities, communities and parishes, with the voices of fellow students, teachers, brothers from the congregation and old friends.

This is an audiovisual production by the Editorial Directorate of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Apostolate El Sembrador Nueva Evangelización (ESNE), broadcast on the official channels of Vatican Radio – Vatican News.
