“Make Her Come Back”, considered one of the scariest films of 2025, premieres on HBO Max

One of the cinema successes of 2025, the horror of “Faça Ela Voltar”, is now available in the HBO Max catalog. The production marked by a heavy and silent atmosphere is aimed at those looking for psychological horror and scares that disturb.

Directed by Australian brothers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou (the same ones behind “Talk to Me”), the film presents the dark drama of two half-siblings, Andy (played by Billy Barratt) and Piper (Sora Wong), who, after finding their father dead, are placed in a new home. They end up in the care of Laura (Sally Hawkins), a woman with a traumatic past and eccentric habits, who also takes in a young mute named Oliver.

The isolated house where they live keeps secrets that become increasingly disturbing and threaten to destroy the bonds between the brothers, turning hope into despair. The increasing tension, the feeling of claustrophobia and the slow construction of horror transform the narrative into something suffocating and painful.

In addition to Hawkins, Barratt and Wong, the cast includes Jonah Wren Phillips as Oliver, whose performance has been considered one of the best recent children’s performances in horror. It is worth remembering that specialized critics reacted well to the production, considering that the film achieved around 89% approval on the Rotten Tomatoes portal.
