New Chevrolet Silverado 2027 is caught running in the USA

Presented in the US market at the end of 2017 and restyled in mid-2021, the current generation of the Silverado pickup is expected to gain a successor soon. Is what the flagras performed by our colleagues from GM Authoritywho spotted a unit of the new picapona running with heavy camouflage by the American snowfall.

A few months ago, the portal itself had already revealed that General Motors was developing a new lineage for the truck. The project includes both Silverado 1500 (more popular version and the only one offered in Brazil) and Sister GMC Sierra 1500 (design with exclusive elements and more luxurious proposal). Both will exchange the T1-1 platform for the T1-2 architecture, considered an evolution of the current and endowed with a series of technical and dynamic advances.

Under the hood, the new pickup trucks will adopt a new V8 line of Small Block family V8 engine with performance and efficiency improvements. There is a talk of at least 10% in greenhouse gas emissions compared to current propellers.

General Motors is investing about $ 579 million to produce these new engines in its Flint factory in Michigan.

Despite the heavy prototype camouflage, it is possible to observe that the front has a set of provisional (not yet definitive) headlights that delimit a grid with at least four horizontal slats, plus a front camera lurking behind a camouflage clipping. It is noted that the headlights are positioned slightly below at the front than current Silverado 1500.

Below, in the front bumper, there are fog lights and a set of sensors. At the bottom, a front deflector is also present. In addition, this prototype also does not have antenna on the ceiling.

On the side we can see a set of spring wheels still with heavy camouflage. The wheels carry Goodyear Wrangler Territory Tire Set. The rearview mirrors seem coming from the current model, although they seem to be in a new support.

A set of vertical led strips are visible on the front of the mirrors to provide perimeter lighting functionality, much like today’s models. There is also a fixed stirrup that seems to extend beyond the junction of the cabin.

Silverado Phev is coming

The next Silverado and Sierra will also have unprecedented plug-in hybrid versions (PHEV), which will bridge the traditional variants to gasoline and the Silverado EV and Sierra EV already known. Chevrolet had been leaving hybrid technology in the last, but has recently changed an idea of the deceleration verified in global demand for electric.
