New Predator film could see Arnold Schwarzenegger return

Predator: Wildlandsthe new film in the science fiction franchise that began in 1987, hits theaters this Thursday (6), but the producers are already looking at the future of the franchise and, mainly, the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger. In an interview with Deadline, the producer Fred Rosenblatt confirmed meetings between the actor and the director of the new films, Then Trachtenberg.

“Obviously, the Holy Grail of the Predator films would be to bring Arnold back. We always had in mind that it would be amazing to see him return to the franchise that he made iconic and that, in turn, made him iconic.”this Rosenblatt.

“Arnold and Dan have met a few times. From what I understand, he’s a big fan of what we’ve done so far. After Predator: Savage Lands comes out, we’ll talk more. I hope we get the opportunity to do something with Arnold, because that would be amazing.”

All about the new Predator

The film stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, and is set in the future, on a remote planet, where a young Predator, excluded from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning), a synthetic from Weyland-Yutani (the film company Alien) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the final adversary.

The work is directed by Then Trachtenberg and produced by John Davis, Dan Trachtenberg, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt and Brent O’Connor.

The film premieres this Thursday, November 6, in Brazil.

In addition to this film, Trachtenberg, who directed a period story centered on a Native American woman fighting the Predator in Predator: The Hunt in 2022, it also released an animated film from the franchise directly on Disney+.

Em Predator: Killer of Killerswe follow three different stories, in animation, of encounters between human warriors and a Predator. The first is set in the Viking age; the second is in feudal Japan; the last takes place during World War II.
