Nick Cave documentary, adaptation of novel set for Sky this fall
Oct. 15 (UPI) — The work of singer, songwriter, composer and artist Nick Cave is set to be explored in a new documentary, The Veiled World of Nick Caveon the British network Sky Documentaries later this year.
The network announced Wednesday musicians Florence Welch, Colin Greenwood and Warren Ellis, designer Bella Freud, filmmaker Wim Wenders and writer Irvine Welsh will share the ways Cave has affected their own work and careers.
“Nick Cave is one of those incomparable artists whose power of storytelling knows no bounds,” Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s executive director of unscripted originals, said in a press release.
“His vivid landscapes are brought to life through his brilliant books, his music and his ceramics,” Edgar-Jones said. “We’re delighted to be lifting the lid on his brilliantly multi-layered world in this special.”
The special, according to Sky, will be produced by Supercollider, which has produced documentaries for the BBC, including Live Aid at 40Israel and the Palestinians: The Road to 7th October and Paid in Full: The Battle for Black Music.

Directing The Veiled World of Nick Cave for Supercollider is the company’s creative director, Mike Christie.
Sky is also producing an original six-part series based on Cave’s second novel, The Death of Bunny Munrowhich features an original score by Cave and his musical collaborator Warren Ellis and is scheduled for release on Nov. 20.
