Nova Ford F-150 is the cheapest giant pickup in Brazil, but news is missing

Ford Ford F (which includes the F-150) closed 2024 as the best selling vehicle in the United States for the 48th consecutive year. In Brazil, however, she entered about a third of each of her rivals, RAM 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado, during last year.

There was a drop in sales compared to 2023, but it may have to do with the update suffered by her – and that you see now here. Among the hypotheses are the reduction of imports of the old model or the public waiting for the newest model. There are no confirmations about any. Anyway, she arrived and wants to change this scenario to 2025.

The new Ford F-150 is offered in the Lariat version, in two variations: with chrome finishes, and Lariat Black, which as the name suggests, replaces the chrome with black. Both come out for $ 519,990, leaving the choice for the customer’s taste. The old platinum version is no longer offered. Among the competitors, it is the cheapest: the RAM 1500 Laramie starts from $ 540,990 and, the High Country Silverado, $ 56,190.

Renewed visual, but classic

The F-150 2025 has not undergone abrupt changes and maintains its essence in the drawing, with always classic and elegant lines. But the bumpers and bars are new, as are headlights and lanterns. In the case of lighting pieces, the shapes of the lights refer to Ford’s stylized letter “F”. The logo has also been redesigned and now it looks 2D in blue and white.

With more significant news, the rear exchanges the bucket lid which, in addition to the retouched look, has a side opening with a small central portion – good for opening in smaller places and sufficient for access to the bucket. The conventional opening and closing, up and down, continue and have electric drive.

Side there is no way to ignore the size of this pickup: 5.91 meters long and 3.69 wheelbase. It is practically the size of a whole Renault Kwid, which has only 4 cm more. It also has 2.43 m wide with the mirrors open and 1.96 m high. The stirrup, which helps in the access to the cabin, is fixed – unlike the new RAM 1500, which has an electric.

Still on the sides the wheels are always 20 inches with 275/60 tires. In the Lariat version, they are chrome. At Lariat Black, darkened. On the right side of the pickup, it is possible to notice the large antenna installed near column A (which gives old air to the F-150) and the single exhaust output.

Lagged interior, but with a lot of space

If the exterior of the new F-150 has been updated, the interior had no changes and already falls into the lag against the competition. The finish is neat, with soft materials, leather and imitation of wood, with good fittings. It is also beautiful, it has a silly look that matches the model and the segment, referring to trucks. But it is old.

The central part is quite wide and continues with the retractable gear lever, which can be collected so that the center armrest will become a small table. In it, you work or eat while standing – the lever can only be collected when in position P. To complete, there is even an 110V socket next to it.

Like a good American car, the Ford F-150 has objects and glasses with glasses and generous sizes, including under the rear seat. It is also full of physical buttons – which are many.

The instrument board has 12 inches and a very simple layout. The multimedia center also has 12 inch, with Android Auto and Apple Wireless Carplay. Completing the multimedia package, there is head-up display and a good 14-speaker bang & Olufsen sound system.

The list of standard equipment also has automatic emergency braking systems, adaptive autopilot, blind dot alerts, lane permanence system, high automatic headlights, 360 ° camera system and eight airbags. There is also electronic adjustment of pedal height, engine starting over the switch and panoramic sunroof.

In the second row of banks, life is also very comfortable. There is plenty of space for three occupants, with flat floor, air conditioning exits, sockets and USB ports. The occupants of the extremity seats are still heating the seats.

The f-150 bucket is larger than that of rival 1500, with 1,495 liters. The load capacity is 834 kg. Inside, there is lighting and socket, but Ford has ceased to offer the luminous load level indicator in the left flashlight, item present only in the first lot of the pickup. There is also no sea bonnet, which appears on the brand’s website as an accessory of R $ 2,055 or, in the case of a rigid and electric system, for R $ 14,873. The conventional could equip, standard, the pickup truck that costs more than half a million reais.

Motorzão and truck footprint

Nothing changes in mechanics and dynamic behavior of the F-150, compared to the model prior to restyling. It is still equipped with the Coyote V8 5.0 engine the 405 hp aspirated gasoline and 56.7 kgfm. The gearbox is a ten -speed automatic and the 4 × 4 rear 4 × 2, 4 × 4, 4 × 4 mode with reduced and 4 × 4 automatic 4 × 4 mode mode.

With this set, it was from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds in our tests. That is, faster than Silverado, which did in 8.6 seconds, but slower than the new RAM 1500, which dug 6 seconds. Remember that RAM is no longer V8 to use a two -cylinder six -cylinder engine with 426 hp.

In consumption, she made averages of 6.4 km/l in the city and 8.6 km/l on the road. Good numbers considering all the attributes of the pickup, provided that the driving is made economically. In time, a curiosity: the fuel tank is 136 liters.

The Ford F-150 does not let occupants forget that they are on board a very large and heavy pickup, and this is mainly valid for the driver. The direction is heavy, the pedals have no immediate answers, the rotation diameter is large and the driver needs to create a new notion of space. Despite this, the visibility is good.

In accelerations, it demonstrates weight, but develops speed without any problem or ceremony. And it does this with a very beautiful, severe and typical snoring of an American V8, which resembles Mustang (and excites much more than RAM 1500). At lower speeds and rotations, however, it is silent.

The suspension combines with the proposal to show a large and heavy car. She is soft, comfortable, but not so firm and ends up swinging a little beyond what is expected. It is not pneumatic, unlike RAM. In short, it is a large pickup that does not try to disguise, for good or for evil.

Four -wheel verdict

The new Ford F-150 has a lot of luxury, space and performance, and keep the V8 engine in such a conservative segment and have the best among rivals. However, truck driving may not be unanimous and the interior lacks an update.
