Our review of Kaamelott, second part, part 1: Morbleu, what a jerk!

CRITIQUE – Four years after a first film which brought together more than 2.5 million spectators, Alexandre Astier lost the satirical and jovial flame of the series. We’re really bored.

The first big screen transposition of Kaamelott , cult series by Alexandre Astier, knew how to transform the essay. Four years later, this second film is terribly disappointing. So what happened so funereal in the kingdom of Logres? At the last conference of Deauville exhibitors, the ambitious project whetted the appetites of cinema managers, in search of the great French comedy that could boost sluggish attendance. Some said that the feature film could reach five million admissions with its five-star cast: from Alain Chabat to Audrey Fleurot via Christian Clavier, Virginie Ledoyen, Clovis Cornillac, Daniel Mesguich, Guillaume Gallienne, Thomas VBD… It is clear that the magic of Merlin the enchanter has deserted the film.

The synopsis? The gods are angry with King Arthur. After the destruction of Kaamelott, his stubborn refusal to kill Lancelot precipitated the kingdom of Logres to its doom. His…
