SPECIAL EXHIBITION AT THE 2025 SHOW
Before arriving in cinemas, the film had an advance screening during the second edition of Mostrinha, an initiative of the International Film Festival in São Paulo aimed at children and young people. The exhibition brought together more than 1 thousand people, mainly children, in the Sala São Paulo, and was received with great enthusiasm, marking a first public presentation very well received by children.
A BELOVED FRANCHISE NOW ON THE SCREEN
With more than 800,000 books sold, theater adaptations and an animated series, the “Diário de Pilar” franchise has established itself as one of the most popular among children, families and educators. Now, the universe created by Flávia Lins e Silva gets its first live-action, produced by Conspiração, with co-production and distribution by The Walt Disney Company.
The author wrote the script for O Diário de Pilar na Amazônia alongside João Costa Van Hombeeck and also acts as an associate producer, ensuring that fans find the essence of the original work on screen.
AN ADVENTURE ABOUT CONNECTION, FRIENDSHIP AND THE AMAZON
The trailer presents the journey that drives the plot of Pilar’s Diary in the Amazon: guided by the magical network left by her grandfather, Pilar travels to the Amazon with her best friend Breno. On the way, they meet Maiara, a riverside girl whose community was destroyed, and Bira, a smart boy who travels the rivers in search of a four-meter arapaima. With the help of folkloric beings and accompanied by Pilar’s cat, Samba, the friends embark on a mission to find Maiara’s family and protect the forest from deforestation.
ADULT CAST STANDS OUT IN THE NARRATIVE
In addition to the protagonist quartet, the film brings together big names in the adult cast. Nanda Costa plays Isabel, Pilar’s mother; Rocco Pitanga, the protagonist’s stepfather; and Roberto Bomtempo brings Vô Pedro to life. The group of villains in the plot includes Marcelo Adnet (Dr. Ernesto), Emílio Dantas (Serra), Rafael Saraiva (Zé Minhoca) and Babu Santana (Montanha).
