“Predator: Savage Lands” hits the IMAX of Knowledge screen
The IMAX Knowledge screen renews its weekly billboard with the premiere of “Wild Lands,” which proposes a unique twist between horror and science fiction. Tickets at parquedelknowledge.com (2×1 promotions on Friday and 4×2 on Sunday).
“Predator: Wilderness” brings good news for fans of the saga that began in the 80s, which over time expanded to become a cult among science fiction lovers. This new chapter not only expands the universe, but also displays a notable visual, technical and narrative richness, under the direction of Then Trachtenberg and a great cast starring Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi y Elle Fanning, who masterfully plays an android called Thia.
After “Predator: The Prey” (2022), set in the 18th century and focused on a Comanche hunter, this new installment transfers the action very far away in time and space. The story revolves around an unexpected protagonist: ten, a young, disgraced Predator played by Schuster-Koloamatangi, who arrives at planeta Genna to face an impossible hunt and thus prove his worth. For those who saw The Dam, also directed by Trachtenberg, Wild Lands functions as his inverted reflection: In both stories, the protagonists—marginalized hunters, beyond their species—must prove to themselves their worth and their place in the world. For this reason, reviews anticipate that the film could break with the tradition of the saga, which for decades showed the Predators as implacable villains.
