‘Predator: Savage Lands’ renews the franchise with creativity and humor
Almost forty years after the original Predator, the action-horror franchise seemed like a lost cause and a guarantee of mediocrity — until Dan Trachtenberg showed up. The American filmmaker took the reins of the universe in 2022 through the excellent The Hunt and continues to exude creativity in his new feature film. In it, an anomalous predator, less invincible than its peers, and a defective android, played by Elle Fanning, come together to explore a lethal planet, built by the director with great attention to detail. Within the scenario, non-obvious sequences and humorous dialogues capture attention. The film is now showing in cinemas.
