Premiere of the film ‘Zootopia 2’ in Brazil brings twice as many audiences as the opening of ‘Wicked 2’ in cinemas

The premiere of “Zootopia 2” topped the weekend box office after being seen by 822 thousand people and grossing R$18.5 million between Thursday (27) and Sunday (30), according to data from Comscore.
According to the publication, it is almost double the audience recorded at the opening of “Wicked Part 2”, with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, which was watched by 444 thousand viewers last week, when it went on display. The musical fell to third place this weekend, earning R$2.79 million with 120,000 tickets sold.
The runner-up went to “Trick of the Master – The 3rd Act”, whose income was R$4 million with 183 thousand spectators. In total, the new chapter of the franchise has already been seen by 1.33 million people.
In fourth place, “The Secret Agent” lost its momentum and was chosen by 40,000 paying customers, which yielded R$1.03 million. In four weeks, the film starring Wagner Moura and nominated for an Oscar accumulated R$ 20.47 million and 908 thousand viewers.
Another newcomer of the week, “Bugonia” came in fifth place, with income of R$365 thousand and only 13 thousand tickets sold.
The top 10 also included the national film “Mãe Fora da Caixa”. In tenth place, it was watched by 7 thousand people.
In total, Brazilian cinemas raised R$28.49 million and welcomed 1.27 million people over the weekend.
