PRIMATE cinematic trailer for Creature Horror
With PRIMATE, director Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night) returns to his roots and presents an uncompromising survival horror that plays with primal fears.
What begins as a tropical getaway turns into a merciless battle between humans and animals, between civilization and instinct. Together with co-author Ernest Riera, Roberts creates an intense outdoor chamber drama in which the greatest threat comes not from the darkness, but from the eyes of a creature that is eerily similar to humans.
The film takes up an age-old motif in horror cinema: the intrusion of the uncontrollable into the family’s protective space. But instead of monsters or supernatural forces, the focus here is on a creature that is loved, trusted and part of the family – a chimpanzee named Ben.
