Robert Englund, known as Freddy Krueger, gets a star on the Walk of Fame
Yesterday (31), Robert Englund celebrated Halloween in a peculiar way. The actor who gave life to the iconic villain Freddy Krueger in the film franchise Nightmare on Elm Streetwhich began in 1984, received its star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
At 78 years old, Englund posed with his character’s bladed glove and received tributes from colleagues. Heather Langenkampwho played Nancy Thompson in the films Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) e A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Warriors (1988) talked about what it was like working with the actor.

“It was Robert who choreographed most of our fights“, said the actress. “He always made sure that the glove was a third protagonist in the scene. I always made sure it was close enough to my face to give me goosebumps but not to cut me. So when I see these scenes in the film, I see the magic of Robert Englund, the classically trained actor, a graduate of the Royal Academy.“
The filmmaker Eli Rothwith whom Englund worked on the film Maniacsfrom 2001, also expressed his admiration for the actor. “It’s these experiences that epitomize a man who truly understands how to find humanity, even in a monster.“, he declared.
Robert Englund thanked his fans and friends for their support throughout his career, which has given him more than 100 films to his credit.
